BeijingShouwang Church Announcement on Outdoor Worship Service on March 25

Dear brothers and sisters:
Peace in the Lord! On this past Sunday, we held the thirteenth outdoor worship service of this year. It was a sunny day, and believers continued to worship our Lord with faith and hope.

As far as we know, on Sunday morning, at least thirteen believers were taken away from locations near the platform for attending the outdoor service. Four believers were released on the way, one believer was sent home directly by policemen, and the other eight believers were sent to four local police stations. Seven believers were released home around 18:30 pm on Sunday. But the last believer, who was detained for forty-eight hours, was not released until 8:00 am on the 27th. This was the first believer who was detained for forty-eight hours during this new stage. May God have mercy on her.

It has been almost a year since Shouwang started outdoor service in April 2011. We have experienced a lot in this process; being strong or being weak, we have been experiencing God’s grace and protection. This special experience did help us to know that this church belongs to Christ; though we are weak, the Lord protects and guides his church. Now we are beset with troubles internally and externally, and it looks like that Shouwang is bruised and is not able to bear this heavy load from man’s perspective. However, God is our strength, and God’s church won’t be overcome by the world. What we need to do is to depend on God, to calm and quiet our soul, but not to be disturbed. Let us look to our God alone, to seek his guidance, and to wait for his work in prayer. We believe that the Lord is going to fulfill his purpose as he is guiding us. Therefore, we give thanks to the Lord, and we also offer our earnest prayer for his protection, that he will send his angles to resist our enemies’ plot. May God draw our hearts to him, and draw us nearer to him, so that we will be more attentive to his voice, and that we will be strengthened to be faithful to his guidance, and to charge ahead, while “entrusting our souls to a faithful Creator.” (1 Peter 4:19)

May peace and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the mercy and love of Father God, and the console and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, be with each brother and sister of Shouwang Church and all the churches who remember Shouwang Church in prayers, from this time on and forevermore! Amen.
